Consider me your Personal Math Assistant!
Hundreds of others have experienced the same frustrations.
Below are a few of the numerous success stories.
My daughter was struggling with Algebra and Geometry during her high school years. She evidently got that from me, because I was unable to help in the math arena. It seemed impossible to to find tutoring at school or any independent tutors. She and I both were beyond stressed. She excels in her academics, but math was holding her back from making honors. I told her to ask her teacher if she knew how we could find help. She gave us a couple of names. By the grace of God we found John Fisher. He had a way of connecting with her like no one has done before. Before long she was soaring in the world of mathematics. As a mom it was so comforting to see how he reached not only her but all of his other students as well. He truly relates to his students. He is patient and had a way of keeping her on track, despite her having ADHD. I've often told him how much he impacted not only my daughter's academic experience, but also impacted her self esteem. John has a kind fatherly way of talking to his students and encouraging them all the while teaching them about math and life. I honestly am so grateful for for meeting him. What a true inspiration he has been. If it wasn't for John Fisher my daughter would not have able to graduate with honors. If it wasn't for John Fisher, my daughter wouldn't be as confident in herself as she is now and wouldn't be on her way to being a nurse. Many thanks, John! My daughter and I are blessed to have met you. Much success in your new endeavors.
Sincerely, Dawn
My daughter started tutoring with John Fisher three years ago. She was failing Algebra. I mean REALLY failing! She felt completely defeated. No matter how hard she worked, she was getting lackluster results. A friend informed us of Mr. Fisher's End Of Course (EOC) review and she attended hoping that something would click and help pull her out of the hole she was in. She came home feeling like he was really going to help her. Her words were "he taught me more in one day than I have learned all year!" We began tutoring weekly after that. He was difference between failing and being able to pull off a B.... that year. She also passed the EOC! We have continued to meet with Mr. Fisher weekly ever since. She works very hard with him and it has made all the difference! She's not just passing math, she's making A's.
Our only regret is not meeting him sooner that awful year of Algebra! Mr. Fisher believes in his students and genuinely cares about their success. He will work with her until they get it right. He encourages her without intimidation and she began asking more questions as she became more comfortable in her ability. He has completely turned her confidence around. I could go on and on, but to put it in simple terms.... he is GREAT teacher/tutor! So thankful we crossed his path and he has been a part of my daughter's success.

Mr. Fisher came highly recommended to me by the Math Department Head from the state college AND math teachers from two local high schools.
I know my student struggled with ALL types of math. Mr. Fisher explained and showed her how to work math computations however many times it took until she was comfortable with it. He has patience - he is kind and truly cares about his students and their success in the classroom. He is accessible and accommodating and tries to be as flexible as his schedule will allow him to be. She became more confident in herself due to Mr. Fisher . Mr. Fisher kept me informed as a parent - he is AWESOME!!!! (He was her tutor for 3 years and if she has a question she still get up with him and she is a junior in college)

There isn’t enough that I can say about John Fisher. When I started going to see Mr. Fisher for math tutoring I was a sophomore in high school and couldn’t understand math to save my life. I’d go see him every Wednesday after school for tutoring. I’ve always struggled with understanding math, but Mr. Fisher makes everything seem so simple. He’ll sit there and explain everything to you in laymen terms to make it easier. Honestly, without him I wouldn’t have been able to pass any of my math classes that I took throughout high school. Now because of John Fisher, I was able to pass chemistry (nothing but math and conversions in this class) with an A. I’m now a first semester nursing student and if it wasn’t for Mr. Fisher, then I wouldn’t be able to do the dosage safety questions with ease. Mr. Fisher isn’t your average math tutor. He goes above and beyond for all of his students. He treats you like you are his family. He is one of the kindest and most giving souls that I have met. Over the 3 years that I have known him, he has become like a second father figure to me. Anyone would be lucky to be tutored by him. He encourages you to be the best student that you can possible be.

Several months ago my daughter started having difficulty in her algebra class. I sent her to tutoring in the mornings at Mowat but determined she needed someone to work with her one on one. After a long search for a math tutor I discovered John Fisher. My daughter just finished her fourth session with John and I am excited with the results. She received a 98 on her last algebra test!
I wanted to advise the math department that I would highly recommend John Fisher to anyone seeking math tutoring. John has a thorough grasp of math concepts and has the ability to convey these ideas to students with an enthusiasm that’s contagious. His experience as a college math teacher is an asset as well as his energetic and encouraging disposition. John is very concerned about his student’s success and has gone the extra mile to ensure that my daughter understood his lessons thoroughly before moving on to the next subject.
It’s nice to learn from others of resources that aid in academic achievement. I hope this recommendation will help others seeking math tutoring to benefit from John Fisher’s knowledge and skills.

Mr. Fisher has been instrumental in helping my daughter navigate thru her middle school and high school math classes. When he first started tutoring her, she was failing her math class in middle school. Within a month her grade had improved to a B and she finished out the year with a strong grade. He has an excellent rapport with her and his tutoring has helped her gain confidence as well as strength in study habits and test review. We are very thankful for all of Mr. Fisher’s assistance.
